According to sources a new service called Google Fit is expected to be announced by Google within two weeks’ time.
Google Fit will be a service that collects all the data from all of your health-tracking gadgets.
It is quite similar to a feature called HealthKit announced by Apple at its developer’s conference, which was supposed to be bundled with Apple’s new iOS 8.
It was followed by Samsung’s new SAMI platform announced in May and it also wants to be the place where health data is collected.
It is still not known whether Google Fit will be an app or a feature baked into Android, or both.
Some fitness device makers with gadgets that already work with Google Fit is also supposed to be named by Google.
An obvious next step for the wearable tech/smartphone industry is Fitness-tracking services. Any consumer would like to prefer a spot where all the data can be gathered and correlated.
Privacy is the most important issue that all of these services will have to address.
