A flight that was supposed to reach Amsterdam was forced to perform an emergency landing in Vienna after a man on plane who wouldn’t stop farting sparked a fight with other passengers.
Last weekend, Transavia Airlines plane was engaged in an emergency landing after two male passengers complained that an old man sitting beside them refused to refrain himself from farting despite them asking him to stop it many times over.
According to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the old man’s rude behavior led to a heated exchange between him and the two men. A flight attendant on the low-cost airliner also got involved.
In Vienna, police officers escorted the disruptive passenger out of the plane, with dogs. A short clip of the incident was posted online shortly afterward. The media said that two men and two women, who were reportedly sisters, were also escorted off the flight.
Fate of Man on Plane who Wouldn’t Stop Farting Remains Unclear
On of the women, the 25-year-old Nora Lachhab, who is half Dutch half Moroccan, couldn’t grasp why she was pulled off the plane. She said she and her sister had no business with the men, so she couldn’t explain the bizarre decision of the plane’s crew.
Later, Transavia Airlines told reporters that the two female passengers misbehaved as well and threw verbal insults to other passengers. The U.K. newspaper The Mirror learned from a police officer that a man “suffering from wind who was not attempting to restrain himself” was on that flight.
The four travelers were barred from traveling with Transavia Airlines, so they had to find another means of transportation to reach their destination, i.e. Amsterdam. The fate of the old passenger who spurred the incident remains unclear. It isn’t clear either whether he had a medical condition or he was plain rude.
