In spite of President Obama’s statement in which he explained that U.S. involvement wouldn’t be required to help rescue the Yazidis that are still trapped on the mountain, it seems that many refugees are simply unable to reach safety unaided. 20,000 Yazidi Iraqis Rescued by U.S. Military
After another series of airstrikes conducted by the U.S. Military against ISIS targets, 20,000 Iraqis that had been trapped on mount Sinjar were brought to the Syrian-Iraqi border.
