4012 pounds of Beef products Recalled on fears of BSE, Mad Cow Disease

A Missouri-based meat company has recalled its beef products amid fears of possible contamination that could prove to be fatal for humans. The company, Fruitland American Meat, has recalled about 4,012 pounds of beef on fears that they could contain parts of the nervous system that can carry properties related to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) or mad cow disease. Fourth case of Variant VJD mad cow disease confirmed in Texas

A Texas man has been diagnosed with Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD). With this exposure, the total number of confirmed cases has climbed to four in the United States. Variant VJD: Fourth case of mad cow disease reported in Texas

The fourth death from Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease caused by mad cow disease has been reported in the United States, health officials say.
