One of the biggest criticisms moms who have a C section confront with is that they didn’t have a natural birth because their baby was cut out of them.
Thanks to one fed up mom, the naked truth about the procedure has been highlighted. Lee’s post faces those who said her ‘decision’ to have a C section is an easy way out. Women usually consider that having a C section means getting to skip out on vaginal tearing, painful labor, and bowel and urinary incontinence. But this couldn’t be more false.
A C section is a brutal surgery in which folds of skin, muscle, and subcutaneous tissue are sliced through before a deep incision is made in the uterus to reach the baby. So, it is unfair to the millions of mothers who’ve experienced the surgery to call the procedure ‘the easy way out.’
Her story reveals that it wasn’t exactly her decision but more a choice given in a moment of crisis, as her baby was suffering after 38 hours of labor.
She bravely notes with all the details how it felt to have the child pulled out through 5 inches long incision while layers of her muscles and fat were placed on the table in order for doctors to reach the infant. Of course, this wasn’t, by far, the way she imagined the birth of her child. Lee also said that the procedure was the most painful thing she ever had to experience in her life.
Shaming a woman for how she gave birth is fundamentally wrong. One must consider that she is a mom, regardless the way she gave birth.
Moreover, the fact that she survived the birth of her child taking into consideration that the mortality rate in the United States in on a rise while in other nations it decreases, is much more important than how she delivered the baby.
Lee also says that she considers herself a very strong woman and that she would agree to take the same decisions again and go through the same pain and suffering every day just to be able to see her son’s smile.
