Ever since the search giant has officially launched a new photo service during this year’s I/O Conference, analysts have been very curious about the many uses of Google’s Photos App. Although the service is not new to the public, the company guarantees that the modern tools and options will render the program a lot easier to use.
It may seem to you that there isn’t much left to do or say about photo applications and yet, every once in a while developing companies come up with new makeovers that take all customers aback. It’s the case of the new Google Photo App which was first introduced to the lay public during this year’s I/O Conference.
The search giant has been keen on improving the recognition technology of the software and its endeavor turned out successful, judging from the unbelievable things that the new program can achieve. According to developers at Google, the new recognition technology can classify photos based on the images they contain.
While previous photo programs had to rely on captions and descriptions in order to identify the content of the pictures, Google’s Photo App can ‘read’ pictures without all these details. The app makes search queries a lot faster as users no longer have to type the entire name of the photo. The program simply matches the first letters of the word with the corresponding images and results are immediately displayed.
Most photographers, be they amateurs or professionals, have hundreds of pictures on their devices. For that matter, Google understands that file organization is vital when trying to keep your pics at hand and to quickly access them at a later time.
The new organizational tools automatically stores pictures in matching folders. Users also have the possibility to manually select the folders they are interested in. The app will make its own suggestions, based on the information it has gathered on the photos with the help of the recognition technology.
Analysts have all agreed there are many uses of Google’s Photo App, especially since the program has been purposefully designed to enable social network communication. The developing company has stated that consumers will find it easier to share their pictures on various channels thanks to the new options that the application features.
Many photo editing tools have also been added, so people who are passionate about these practices will most likely enjoy Google’s new creation. Photo App may be used to make collages, animations, GIFs and montages.
The only disadvantage that analysts could think of was the monthly fee that Google imposes to consumers who want to upload higher resolution images. The standard limit was set to 16MP; pictures who go beyond this limit will not be uploaded on the photo sharing platform.
