A newly wedded couple in South Carolina have given photographers the possibility to get a glimpse of genuine love. The young marine and bride-to-be prayer moment wins America’s hearts after the photo gets published on Facebook.
Weddings are traditionally regarded as festive moments and true declarations of love in front of God. Some wedding ceremonies might still preserve this traditional aspect, whereas others have completely set new boundaries and meanings for these family reunions.
A young couple in South Carolina has shown that religious vows continue to be just as important nowadays as they used to be in Biblical times. Cpl. Caleb Earwood was well aware that he was not supposed to see his bride-to-be before the wedding ceremony, but he, nevertheless, requested to have one single moment of prayer with her.
The young Marine and his bride-to-be chose to meet at the corner of the house, so they could stay close to one another without actually seeing each other. They then, held hands as Earwood began saying his prayer. He thank God for the beautiful wife he was about to marry and expressed gratitude for his bride’s family.
The moment was skillfully captured by the wedding photographer, Dwayne Schmidt. The beauty of the image does not stem from the choice of location or the looks of the young couple, but rather from the powerful expression of emotions. Even though the photo is static, one can clearly see that the bride-to-be is deeply moved by her future husband’s gratitude.
Schmidt was the first to fell in love with the photograph. He chose this particular image from the entire wedding collection to post it on his Facebook page. The photo received over 20,000 likes since it was first posted on Saturday.
The picture of the young couple has immediately become an Internet sensation triggering numerous positive and appreciative comments from Facebook users. It wasn’t just the moment of genuine love that users have appreciated, but also Schmidt’s talent. He told the press that he just happened to be at the right place, in the right time and that the moment itself was impressive.
“I tried not to cry and focus on what I was doing,” Schmidt told reporters. He further added that people from all over the world have congratulated him for the picture. Americans, however, have been the most moved; some of them have emailed Schmidt to thank him for having posted the pic. In their opinion, the photo is a masterpiece because it synthetizes the true American essence.
