It’s been a few weeks already since Samsung first announced it was going to release a limited number of S6 Edge devices that were produced in collaboration with Marvel, the creators of the famous Iron Man superhero. Their intentions have now come true as the company is launching the said smartphone on Wednesday.
Samsung lovers have used every opportunity they have had to take a look at the new Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man edition. Their curiosity has been all the more fueled by rumors saying that there will only be 1,000 devices released on the market.
Much to our discontent the personalized phones will be made available only in South Korea, China and Hong Kong. Korean users will be able to purchase the Iron Man smartphone starting on the 27th of May, whereas Chinese and Hong Kong consumers will get their hands on the posh model in June. European customers, on the other hand, can only order them online as the smartphone will not be available on their territory.
While the Iron Man model preserved all the features that Galaxy S6 Edge was endowed with, there are many elements in point of aspect that have suffered modifications. The smartphone cover is fiery red and sports the famous monochrome Iron Man mask on the back. The display options have also been customized, so new Marvel-inspired icons appear on users’ homepage.
Samsung claims the smartphone has also been provided with several wallpapers, fonts and color schemes that match those of the Avenger. The smartphone manufacturer could soon replace the traditional chargers with more advanced ones. The Iron Man limited edition series comes with a charger that is inspired by Iron Man’ Arc Reactors, mark IV.
Samsung’s S6 Edge limited edition version may come with many Iron Man-inspired accessories and may be packed in a breath-taking fiery box, but tech lovers might expect something else from the smartphone, as well. It was for them that the South Korean company decided to upgrade its storage capacity to 64GB of memory.
Based on previous specifications, the Galaxy S6 Edge sports a 5.1-inch Quad HD display with rounded corners. It was provided with octacore application processor of 2.1 Ghz and 1.5 GHz, respectively, a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The sixth generation of Samsung Galaxy smartphone uses the Android 5 software, also known as Lollipop.
