Microsoft’s Windows 10 Will Focus on Mobile

January 19, 2015 Posted by Editor

microsoft's windows 10Microsoft will hold a briefing where it will talk more about what the new and eagerly-awaited Windows 10. The operating system was announced on September 30 and it is expected to be launched at the beginning of 2015. Microsoft’s Windows 10 is now in Beta testing is thought to be a crucial release for Microsoft.

The tech giant’s latest operating system, Windows 8 was a commercial flop. The operating system was highly criticized and it took Microsoft many updates to keep its users content. It is believed that Microsoft wants so much to distance itself from Windows 8 that it named its new operating system Windows 10, instead of Windows 9.

The briefing where more details are expected about Windows 10 is going to be held on January 21; the theme for the briefing is Windows 10: The Next Chapter. Unlike itself, Microsoft is keeping mum on what it is planning to reveal at the briefing on Wednesday.

The rumors that are circulating are hinting at the fact that Microsoft will focus on the mobile part of Windows 10 during its Wednesday event that is targeting Windows Phone, Intel chips and entry-level tablets. This rumor was sparked by the appearance of an app in the Windows Phone store called Phone Insider. The app is for testers and it is prepping the way for downloads of pre-release versions of Windows 10.

If the rumors are true and Microsoft does make the Wednesday event a mobile-oriented one, then it means that it is beginning to take steps towards reaching its goal or giving the world a one Windows.

What does one Windows mean? Well, it’s not about having one operating system on all platforms, it’s about a universal app platforms where developers can create software that runs across all Windows platforms. Many tech analysts believe that if Microsoft manages to do this, it will bring success to Windows 10, which is exactly what Microsoft needs, especially after Windows 8.

We will keep you posted about Microsoft’s Windows 10 when the information becomes available on Wednesday.
