Apple Watch Will Hit the Stores in March

January 7, 2015 Posted by Contributor

apple watch will be released in march
For those who have been waiting patiently for the much-anticipated Apple Watch to show its face in tech stores, the wait is (almost) over. Apple has just announced that its first smartwatch will be available for sale this spring, more precisely, at the end of March.

The giant tech company has not revealed many details about the release date of the Apple Watch, vaguely saying that they will release it sometime in 2015. Many wondered if this could mean the first, second or third quarter of this year. Apple revealed the smartwatch in September 2014, when they unveiled the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple will start shipping the smartwatch by the end of March and retail stores will be instructed on how to use and sell the watch starting with the middle of February.

The much-anticipated Apple Watch will be available in three versions: the standard model Apple Watch that comes in grey and silver anodized aluminum, the sport version called Apple Watch Sport, which comes in polished or black stainless steel. The most expensive version of the Apple smart wearable device is called the Luxury Watch Edition. This version comes in rose or yellow 18 carat gold that has been developed to be twice as hard as normal gold. Each of the watch models will be available in two sizes: 38 mm and 42 mm.

Those who will purchase the Apple Watch will be able to navigate the device’s interface through something called the Digital Crown, which is a side-winder. The Apple Watch will not feature the famous iPhone pinch-to-display technology. Users must rotate the Digital Crown so that they can zoom in and out, navigate or scroll.
The Digital Crown also serves as a home button and activation point for Siri, Apple’s digital assistant.

Apple claims that their wearable device will change the way users communicate through sending and receiving messages, answering iPhone calls or sharing personalized health info.

When it was first announced, Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive said that the Watch, designed by Sir Jony Ive, was the most personal Apple device ever created.

The Apple Watch retail price in the US will start at $349.
