This Year’s Miss America will be Kira Kazantsev, a smart, blonde bombshell from Manhattan. She is only 23-years old but has achieved many things: she speaks fluent Russian, she plans on attending law school and she advocates for domestic violence. Oh, did we mention that she can also sing a mean cover of “Happy”, by Pharrell Williams? Reporters wanted to find out more about the gorgeous woman that will be representing the country at Miss Universe. Here’s what they found out:
1. This girl can really multi-task. In the talent portion of the event she amazed everyone with her own version of William’s smash song. She did all this while also performing the popular cups routine from the ‘Pitch Perfect’ movie. During her talent event she sat cross-legged on the stage and banged plastic cups to the floor.
2. As everyone may know, you can’t win Miss America with beauty alone. Luckily for Kira, she also has brains. The New York beauty triple-majored in Political Science, Global Studies and Geography as an undergrad at Hofstra University from Long Island. She is also planning on studying law at Fordham University Law School, where she has already been accepted as a student.
3. Kazantsev is the daughter of Russian immigrants, and she also speaks Spanish. This means that she is trilingual!

4. Miss America’s evening dress was a splendid champagne-colored custom made design from John Paul Ataker, New York.
5. Kira Kazantsev is not really from New York. She is actually from California, but she moved from there to the Empire State when she started college. That was approximately 5 years ago.
6. Miss New York, and freshly awarded Miss America, is also socially active (probably not how you’d expect her to be). The blonde beauty is an advocate for domestic violence victims. She decided to help people facing this problem because she also experienced an abusive relationship in college. During that time, her ex-boyfriend would stalk her and send her degrading text messages. She finally decided that she had enough and she must stand up for herself.
All in all, we believe that Kira Kazantsev is one hell of a candidate for Miss World. She has it all: brains, beauty, soul and that unique ‘something’ that makes people lover her. Oh, and she also has a killer body. Here’s a photo of her in her swim suit trial.
