Tiger Woods Has Not Performed Very Well at the British Open

The World Cup may have ended, but another major sports event has begun: The British Open. Tiger Woods was the last one to perform in the British Open, and he also had the largest gallery. Unlike previous performances, this time, Tiger Woods started from the 10th tee, in the last place. He started the British Open with 5 birdies in a six-hole stretch for a 69. This performance placed him well behind Rory Mcllroy with three shots. In the end, he ended up being 19 shots from the lead.

His performance was definitely not one of his best. Woods actually said that he made a lot of mistakes. Considering that he was five-over par on the opening two holes, it’s good news that he opened on Saturday with a pair of birdies at number 10.

“I’ve made two doubles and two triples (…) But on top of that, I missed a lot of shots for opportunities for birdies, and consequently I’m three-over par.” Tiger Woods declared about his performance.

There is, however, an explanation for his poor presentation at the British Open: it is his second time playing after his operation. The operation took place on March 31. This also made him miss his cut at the Congressional approximately 21 days ago. The good news is that he has not reported any pain or difficulty from the surgery up until now. He also mentioned, in an older interview, that he is finally starting to get into the flow of participating in a tournament again.

Tiger Woods was never the type of person to go easy on himself, so he still blames himself for his poor performance. He says that he made a great number of mistakes, and it is impossible to run up high-scores and expect to contend (especially under benign situations). Other results in the tournament were three-under par, or better. Tiger Woods did not obtain such scores.

In the end, he made it on the 58th position. This was disastrous news for him, especially since he has never made it out of the top 30 in the British Open.

In other news, Darren Clarke has made an incredible comeback during the British open. He has only won two top 10s in the three years since he won the British Open. He is also tied for the eight position in the Australian PGA Championship.

“Today I holed a couple of putts and managed to keep some momentum going.”

Lastly, Jordan Spieth, who has now played with Woods five times this year, ended 20 shots better than woods in all the five rounds. We hope that Woods will improve his performance in the future, because it’s not looking very well right now.
