The smartphone lovers who are eagerly waiting for the 5.5-inch model of iPhone 6 may face a little disappointment as the sources say that the tech giant Apple is going to introduce the iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch display this August.
Adding to your disappointment are the reports which say that over 90 percent models will be the 4.7-inch.
Apple is planning to sell 80 million iPhone 6 units this year and only 10 percent would be of 5.5 inch model that will arrive by September, according to industry sources.
The insiders say, the reason behind producing lesser number of 5.5 inch models is the high cost and lack of availability of sapphire as a display cover material.
Last month, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo had said that less supply has forced Apple to include a sapphire screen in only the priciest versions of the devices.
The 1,920×1,080 (401 pixels per inch) display that is expected for the 5.5-incher phone is also another reason behind lesser availability of the iPhone 6 model.
Industry watchdogs say Apple must work on increasing the iPhone’s screen size from 4 inches as this would help the company regain market share from rials including Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. Samsung’s big screen phablets and smartphones are largely appreciated by the consumers.
iPhone 6 is definitely going to be slimmer and lighter. It is rumored to feature A8 bit processor. An A8 processor in iPhone 6 will bring in lightning speed. So the much faster and slimmer iPhone 6 is just 3 months away. Stay tuned for further updates on iPhone 6.
