39-year-old Utah woman, accused of strangulating her seven infants soon after birth, has admitted that she gave birth each time in her home, authorities said.
During investigations, Megan Huntsman revealed that she did not go to a hospital to deliver her babies, Pleasant Grove Police Capt. Mike Roberts said.
However, if anybody helped her while giving births is still unclear.
When asked about the progress in the probe, Roberts said, “Investigators have an initial theory on Huntsman’s motive but it cannot be discussed publicly. More arrests cannot be ruled out.”
Roberts also said that Huntsman concealed her pregnancies from her two oldest daughters and neighbours. Her husband, Darren West, also told police that he knew nothing about the pregnancies.
When neighbors were contacted, they said that they never knew she was pregnant. However, they admitted that weight fluctuations and toggling between baggy and tight clothes were always there with Huntsman.
Utah investigators are also examining DNA from the babies to determine who the parents are and also the sex of the babies.
On Tuesday, they served a new search warrant at the house of a family member, Roberts said, but that turned up nothing useful.
