Here is a piece of good news for those eagerly waiting for the Microsoft Office suite for their iPad. The industry insiders say it is likely to be launched in the first half of 2014.
According to a reliable industry source ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley, the program is alive and well and should arrive sometime in the first half of 2014.
The sources also say, the iPad edition is likely to be released before a touch-focused version of the suite for Windows.
Earlier, ex-CEO Steve Ballmer has hinted its arrival some time after Microsoft’s own touch-first, “Gemini” implementation of Office. Gemini is Microsoft’s Metro-Style/Windows Store versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
Last summer, Microsoft has launched Office for the iPhone with its pictured Office Mobile app. However, users need to have an Office 365 Home Premium or Pro Subscription to use the app.
For now, we need to wait and watch for the Office suite app for Apple tablets till the time we hear direct from the horses’ mouth on its official launch.
