MIDVALE — An elderly couple was found dead in their home Friday night from apparent exposure to cold in Midvale.
Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said the couple was identified as Howard Durrant, 79, and Sharell Sund, 87.
Utah Highway Patrol got a call on Friday about 6:30 p.m. to 985 E. 7240 south after the couples didn’t respond to the calls of family members from the last few weeks.
UHP entered the home and found the couple had died. Hoyal sees no signs of trauma and no indication of foul play. At the time the couple was found, there was no power in their home, and they appeared to have died of natural causes related to the cold, according to UHP.
In response to a call asking why the couple’s power was out, Rocky Mountain Power said they cannot discuss personal accounts.
