The friends and relatives of Kelly Boren, who was allegedly killed by her husband alongwith her two young children and mother on Thursday night at her Spanish Fork home, held a vigil at Gold’s Gym on Saturday night to honor their memories.
One of her friend said, the gym was Kelly’s second home where she worked out and socialized nearly every day.
“This is where we all met and bonded,” said RiRi Whiting, Kelly’s friend who was among the people who were present at the gym to pay tribute to the victims.
“It was hard for me to believe the shocking news. I was really close to them. Kelly was the best mother and her children were sweet as well,” said Ohran, who was Kelly’s neighbour.
Expressing shock over the unfortunate incident on Facebook, King’s sister Jeanette Malpass said, “Cannot get my head around this and will never understand why someone has to take away lives like this. My beautiful sister Marie, her daughter Kelly and Kelly’s children… may you all rest in peace.”
34-year-old Joshua Boren is suspected to have killed his wife Kelly and mother-in-law Marie King along with his two children before shooting himself, the police said after preliminary investigation. Boren was a patrol officer in Lindon.
The services for the victims Kelly, Jaden and Haley and Marie King have been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary.
Meanwhile, Lt Matt Johnson of Spanish Fork Police said that no suicide note was found at the crime scene.
