There are some foods no nutritionist would ever eat as they are rich in additives, trans fats, and bad carbs.
One of the foods you should avoid is hot dogs, regardless of the type of meat used. Hot dogs usually contain processed meat, have lots of salt, and the sauces are laced with cancer-causing chemicals. Hot dogs are some of the poorest food choices you can make.
Low-fat peanut butter is another food your should steer clear of. The low-fat version of the popular staple does not contain the monounsaturated type of fat that keeps your heart healthy. In addition, when fat is removed from peanut butter, manufacturers add several unhealthy ingredients to it, like sugars and bad carbs. A healthy peanut butter contains only peanuts and salt.
Soda is another thing you should avoid. Sugary drinks are calorie bombs with no nutritional value. Plus, they quench your thirst for a very short period of time and don’t fill you up.
Some Dishes Are Less Healthy than Others
Nutritionists also stay away from dishes like Fettucine Alfredo since the cream sauce is so rich in fats that the dish has been dubbed “a heart attack on a plate.” You can still enjoy pasta by consuming less heavy versions of the popular dish, like pasta marinara.
Another food you should definitely skip if you plan to enjoy a healthy life into old age is margarine. You should replace it with butter (in moderation) and olive oil instead. Margarine is packed with unhealthy fats and additives that can take a heavy toll on your cardiovascular system.
Nutritionists are not friends with American cheese either. The food is highly processed so expect more chronic inflammation, higher risk of cancer and obesity. American cheese is not natural. It is man-made and less than half is actual cheese. Also, American cheese is packed with salt and saturated fats. So, it is a definite no-no.
