According to a report from Kaspersky co-founder, Bitcoin is a secret project of the U.S. government to create a “dollar 2.0” to help fund the black operations of the CIA and the MI5.
The Russian-based cyber security firm claims that Bitcoin was created by U.S. spy agencies to obtain a currency that cannot be tracked when funding top-secret international spy missions.
Natalya Kaspersky, who is the co-founder of the Russian antivirus solution maker Kaspersky Labs, made the shocking claims during a presentation at the ITMP University in St Petersburg, Russia. Parts of her presentation were recorded and immediately posted on social media.
According to Ms. Kaspersky, “bitcoin is a project of American intelligence” as a means of offering a “quick” source of money for spy missions ran by the U.S., Canadian, and British spy agencies.
The technology is ‘privatised,’ just like the Internet, GPS and TOR. In fact, it is dollar 2.0. Its rate is controlled by the owners of exchanges,
Ms. Kaspersky said.
Bitcoin a U.S. Spy Agencies’ Project
But there is more. The IT entrepreneur believes that the founder of the cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto, is just a code name used by a the U.S. spies behind Bitcoin.
Ms. Kaspersky also warned users that smartphones are not just phones, but spy tools in the hand of governments to keep an eye on the population. The claims were made after recent reports about a Bitcoin crash which could be beneficial for the digital coin.
However, Bitcoin is no longer the only cryptocurrency out there. Monero and Ripple are gaining traction and popularity. Blockchain Capital expressed confidence that Bitcoin would not vanish overnight as some have suggested.
Bitcoin supporters also believe that the high volatility is not the end of bitcoin since there are legions of people that trust the currency and trade it.
