The tiny high-end camera is now a bargain, as GoPro’s HERO4 Session drops to $200 in time for the holidays, which will make an excellent purchase or even a greater gift. Meant for people with high-quality expectation in shooting action footage, GoPro is often one of the best names on the market.
However, prices are relatively steep, and that has been the case for the tiny HERO4 Sessions. Up until now, the camera cost $400, which was the exact price of the GoPro HERO4 Silver, which was actually better performing. HERO4 Session had poorer specs, and yet it was at the same price due to its highly convenient size. That still made it the less desirable product.
But GoPro has changed the game just in time for holiday shopping. The HERO4 Sessions camera is now $200, which is essentially a bargain. It boasts a size of 1.5 inches on either side, so it’s perfect for capturing action footage by being inserted into GoPro equipment. And, like a majority of the products from the company, it proves excellent performance and clear quality.
All that HERO4 performance is packed into the tiny camera, weighing just about 75g. Of course, it lacks the 4k support or an LCD screen, but that’s possibly understandable given its minute size. And yet, it can still record videos at a full-HD resolution of 1080 pixels at 60 fps, or take 8MP photos.
This means excellent quality images in various environments, including underwater. HERO4 Session is water proof and can travel with you at depths of 33 feet below without the need of additional equipment. So, even if you’re not planning an exotic vacation to warm islands this winter, it will still be a safe camera to take and record snowboarding, skiing, or snowball fights.
HERO4 Session has also been deemed as the most user-friendly GoPro camera out there. It’s not precisely for aspiring filmmakers like the HERO4 Silver ($400) or the HERO4 Black ($500), but it’s excellent for capturing high quality images of important moments. It also has excellent audio recording for various situations, including exclusion of noise made by the wind.
So, whether you’re flying down the slopes, or running, the HERO4 Sessions will keep a clear tab of the video’s audio performance. The tiny cubed camera can also record slow-motion, and snap high-quality images, or use burst mode. Its non-removable battery also praises 2 hours of life without charge.
GoPro HERO4 Session will make an excellent bargain this Christmas.
