Temporary biometric tattoos can track your vitals and let you know how healthy you actually are. The new software design is the product of the Chaotic Moon Development Company based in Austin, Texas. The wearable software can track a person’s vital signs and alert the wearer when his or her numbers are not in accordance to the average values.
The new software comes in the shape of a tattoo kit made up of conductive paint and several technical parts that compose the circuit. It can be applied directly on the user’s skin and can be covered by any type of jacket or clothing. However the biometric tattoo needs to be applied directly on the skin in order to be able to collect data and transmit it back to its receptors.
Another popular technology used to monitor vital signs is that of the fitness brands, which report on the wearer’s sleep time and heart rate as well as the mileage that the wearer walks on a daily basis. But the developers of the new biometric tattoos consider this to be and upgrade from the classic fitness bands.
The tech tattoos can monitor the user’s blood pressure, heart rate and body temperature and are easily disguised underneath clothing, similar in design to actual tattoos. Although the biometrical tattoo technology is still in its infancy, it could be developed into some very useful monitoring devices and have many applications in several domains, particularly in the medical field.
The tech tattoos could help patients constantly keep their vital signs checked should they have a pre-existing medical condition that requires constant supervision and even medication. The technology has already been adapted to alert users about specific irregularities in their vital signs provided that the software is programed to focus on a vital sign in particular.
The company that first came up with the design went on to explain on its website that the technology essentially becomes part of the user, as it is applied directly on the skin and transmits and uploads data to the user’s smart device through the use of an application. The technology does show potential as it is minimalistic in its design and has the capacity of being altered to the customer’s needs.
The components that actually track the user’s vital signs are directly mounted on the skin and are later connected to one another with the use of conductive paint that is also drawn directly on the body. The biometrical tattoos can send, receive and store health data about the person wearing them.
