Starting this Thursday, Skype Translator app breaks all language barriers and sets new standards for online communication. According to the official announcement that was posted on the company’s website, the new tool may be used by all online users.
Translators may soon be forced to find new jobs or go through a professional reorientation program as Skype is determined to eliminate all language barriers. The new tool was introduced on Thursday, so many U.S. residents may already be able to use it.
There are a few steps that Skype users have to perform before they can actually get their hands on the new Translator app. First of all, they have to enter the official website of the company and download the desktop version of Skype for Desktop with Translator. Once the installation has been completed, users can initiate conversations in languages they don’t really know by simply clicking the little globe icon on the Skype window.
Skype Translator works with written messages, as well. Thanks to this new feature, users don’t need to look up unknown words in dictionaries. The Skype translator app will automatically do this for them, according to Skype’s official blog post.
The new tool will be available for as many Windows versions as possible, the company has added. It will work with Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 programs, so customers don’t have to worry that the new Translator tool won’t be compatible with their existing operating systems.
One of the advantages that Skype Translator guarantees is that conversations can be made in six languages at the same time, such as, for instance, German, Italian, French, Mandarin, English and Spanish. The program can now recognize 50 languages. In the future, developers will work to reduce all possible conversation flaws.
The only inconvenience at present is that users have to speak very slowly in order for the program to be able to understand and to translate the words in due time. Nevertheless, the app functions well compared to the previous versions. Skype thinks people won’t encounter anymore difficulties in holding international business meetings.
