Based on their recent announcement, Google will embed new ad features in YouTube videos to make the online shopping process a lot easier for viewers. The new Shopping ads on YouTube videos are similar to the ones Google is already using for its search results.
The announcement was first made official by one of Google’s Ads Manager during a blog post this week. After informing users that YouTube videos will contain Shopping ads that will let viewers shop directly from videos, the Google manager has explained that the ads will appear under the form of Google Cards.
Google Cards were first presented in March as a replacement for annotations. The search giant has chosen to maintain this format because they think users can better recognize them if they see this form. Ads Manager Diya Jolly thinks the ‘I’ icon of the new shopping ads will help users recollect the Google cards and click on them for more details.
Users and advertisers will all benefit from the introduction of the new ad features. Viewers can shorten the shopping process, whereas advertisers can use a wider array of monetizing options when promoting their products and services.
The new Shopping Ads will be introduced in the following months, according to Google’s declaration. As is the case with most Google ads, all the online data will be used to guess the viewer’s preferences and to make them ad suggestions.
This is not the only change that the company is making. Latest rumors indicate that the developing company is working to update its search platform, as well, to make it more appropriate for smartphone users. The need for such changes has grown directly proportional with smartphones’ popularity. The latter make it hard for users to type the keywords they are interested in in the small search box.
It is not yet clear whether Google will completely remove search boxes or not, but the company has promised to introduce users to some new and interesting features. The new search algorithm is called Now on Tap and it is meant to provide users answers, based on previous online actions they have performed. The company will keep us up to date with more details and explanations after the Android version of the Now on Tap is released on October 5th for Nexus devices.
