HTC is getting ready to release their newest flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9. Rumors about the new HTC One M9 have been circulating for a while, but now with the launch approaching fast, it seems that new and exciting leaks have become available. According to the latest rumors, it appears that the new HTC One M9 will feature a 20MP camera and it will come alongside a smartwatch.
HTC has been holding their ground when it came to megapixels. They’ve put an ultrapixel camera on their HTC One M8, and now are planning to leave it all behind. Ultrapixel is a term invented by HTC and it refers to a camera with few but large megapixels. The science behind this is that it the number of megapixels doesn’t really count, but their quality. Larger pixels are great at offering less image noise.
This ultrapixel camera is featured by the current HTC flagship, the HTC One M8. It only has 4MP, with 2688×1520 pixels; if the rumor that HTC is equipping its new flagship with a 20MP camera is true then this could mean a complete abandonment of its ultrapixel approach.
The rumors are also saying that the new HTC One M9 will look very similar to the current HTC One M8. The color options will be gray, silver or gold and it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 819 processor which is an octa-core processor.
HTC is also expected to launch a new and eagerly-awaited smartwatch, but nothing has been confirmed or infirmed so far by the tech giant. When reached, HTC revealed that the company does not comment on speculation and rumors. Even though there is no official confirmation, late rumors are usually spot-on, so we expect the new HTC One M9 to have a 20MP camera.
The latest HTC One M9 is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, or the MWC, which is the world’s largest and most popular mobile event. This year, the MWC will take place in Barcelona and will be the place where a plethora of new smartphone, tablets and wearables will be unveiled.
