Intel’s Smart Bracelet Mica Hits Stores in December

Posted by

Mica by Intel to hit stores in decemberWomen passionate about mixing both technology and fashion will be pleased to hear that a new smart bracelet from Intel is going to be available in stores, early December.

MICA will be carried by two companies: Opening Ceremony and Barney’s New York. People interesting in purchasing the device can do it either online or in specific stores belonging to the companies mentioned earlier. The price for MICA – My intelligent Communications Accessory – will be around $495 and the smart bracelet will hit stores in early December, just in time for the holiday season.

There are many smart devices out there, especially smart watches with big and bulky design, not at all feminine. Although a smart watch may have more functions than MICA, some models are so heavy and rough that they can make simple tasks as working on a computer or matching an outfit get on the verge of annoying.

The smart bracelet comes to satisfy women who feel the need of having a device that is both functional and good looking. MICA will have several designs available. Some of the materials used will include 18 karat gold, lapis lazuli stones, Chinese pearls, curved sapphire glass, water snake skin and Russian obsidian.

You will be able to access Facebook, Google Calendar, Yelp along with phone calling and texting, without necessarily having to tether to a smartphone. The device can access wireless networks with its own 3G connectivity and comes with an AT&T wireless data service contract for two years, included in the price of $495. If you want to check Facebook in real time, get notified of future events or simply want to quickly search new, near-by places, MICA is the easiest way to do it.

MICA’s battery is expected to last up to two days and the device can be charged using a small micro USB port. Other special features include the possibility of locating it through an internet connection if you forget where it is, being able to lock it from outside and using a new, special feature designed by Intel and Tom Tom, to be notified of future events or meetings, based on your location.

This being said, if you desire a smart, functional device with a glamorous look, MICA is the device you are searching for. Another great thing is that it will be out just in time for Christmas.
