It has been revealed that pop sensation Justin Bieber will take the plea deal in Florida street racing case. The singer will plead guilty to avoid worsening charges that stem from his arrest in South Florida, following an illegal street drag race.
This particular information was revealed by two persons who are directly involved in the case, but who have refused to reveal their identities, because they were not authorized to publicly comment on the case.
They said that the 20 year old Bieber will plead guilty to misdemeanor careless driving and resisting arrest without violence. These two replaced an original charge of driving under the influence. The singer will also agree to attending anger management courses and make a $50,000 donation, as well as paying court-ordered fines.
The court hearing will take place today, but Bieber is not expected to attend it. He was arrested on January, 23 in Miami Beach after the police were alerted to an illegal street race between the singer’s rented Lamborghini and another luxury car, a Ferrari, driven by Khalil Amir Sharieff, an R&B singer.
The reason neither of the men were charged with illegal drag racing, because there was little evidence that they were doing just that. There wasn’t concrete proof that they even exceeding speed limits.
Bieber was given an alcohol breath test and eh was found below the limit for underage drivers (0.002), but the urine tests revealed that the pop singer had marijuana traces present in his system, as well as Xanax. Bieber’s license was expired at the time of the incident and he was charged with driving on an expired license, as well as for resisting arrest.
It is not the first time Bieber has troubles with the law; just last month he resolved another criminal case by pleading no contest to a vandalism charge. He threw eggs at a neighbor’s house in Los Angeles. He was forced to pay more than $80,000 in damages.
In late December he was also charged with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto, Canada. His lawyers insists that he is not guilty,
