It has been revealed that Google Apps are at the top of U.S. Smartphone apps list. The report states that American users are limiting themselves in using certain apps. In the past two months, 65.5% of users have not downloaded any new applications and chose to download mini-apps, which accounted for 7% of the total number of downloaded applications.
The report comes from comScore and it is saying that people are spending a bit over 50% of their time using apps; 52% of the users’ time is spend using applications and 48% actual website. Also, it has been revealed that the majority of users are not interested in adding new apps to their devices, even if those apps are free of charge.
Adam Lella, marketing analyst of comScore, had this to say about the report and its findings:
People only have so much storage space on their phones, so they really have to be selective about which apps they download.
There are a plethora of apps in app stores such as Apple and Google. Out of those 2 million applications, one of the most downloaded apps is Facebook. It has 115 million user visits each month and it is the most used app in history.
Another interesting find is that Google apps occupy five spots in the top ten list of most downloaded apps in the U.S. After Facebook, Google’s Youtube is on the the number two position, which has around 83.4 million users.
The number three position is occupied by Google Play, which is where Android lovers get their Android phone apps. The app has around 72 million users every month. Did you know that Android has around 85% market share of phones on a global scale?
The number four position is the Google Search app, which has 70 million users. Google has recently added the Google Voice Search feature which is turning out to be quite popular.
Pandora occupies the fifth spot on the top ten list of U.S. Smartphone apps list. It is the largest radio station in the world with around 69 million listeners.
Google Maps and Google Gmail occupy the sixth and seventh spots with 64.5 million and 60 million monthly users.
The most popular photo sharing app in the world has 46.6 million monthly users and it occupies the eighth spot and Apple Maps and Yahoo Finance, the ninth and tenth position with 42 million users every month.
