iPhone 6 sales may face brunt of interest even before Release Date

May 24, 2014 Posted by Editor

The most anticipated Apple smartphone ever and the big news of iPhone 6 release date, is expected to be launched worldwide in late 2014 or early 2015, but a survey has made some glaring exposure that buying interest has steadily declined since the arrival of the iPhone 5S.

The company is hoping a rosy outlook for iPhone 6 and if it turns true then it would be a great news for its investors. But Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster reports that interest of buying iPhone has declined.

For the Munster’s latest survey, the investigators questioned1, 016 Americans about their plans to buy a smartphone in the next three months. The survey revealed that only 34 percent of the participants expressed interest in buying an iPhone. The more shocking was that the figures have witnessed a gradual decline in last 5-6 months following the launch of the 5S. It was 39 percent in February, 44 percent i December and 50 percent in September.

Meanwhile, the tech giant is expecting to do a good business with the iphone 6.  The iPhone accounts to 57 percent of Apple’s total revenue in its most recent quarter. In such a scenario a jump in sales for this device will be great for the business.

Another survey by CNET has found that the customer decline, if any, would be an ordinary for the time of the year. It says the demand for Apple smartphones usually trails off until the next iPhone is announced.

Another poll that questioned 4,000 consumers has suggested that the features of iPhone 6, especially the bigger display, are attracting big-time attention from potential consumers.

iPhone 6 Price

If talk about the price of the new smartphone, insiders say it could be hiked by USD 100 for the entry level iPhone. However, sources from the company say the entry level 4.7-inch screen will retain the USD 199 price. Moreover, if 5.5-inch model is introduced the price will definitely be USD 100 or more than the 4.7-inch model. However, tech analysts say the prices will be decided on the basis of storage and key features including display of the smartphone.
