In an attempt to make navigation easier and tension free search engine giant Google has integrated Uber with Google Maps in the latest iOS and Android update.
The integration of the transportation and ride-sharing app has opened various travel options for those who love travelling.
If you have Uber app installed in your mobile device and you are in the range of Uber service, it will show up alongside options for walking, driving and public transportations, which will allow you to keep a track on your travel time, distance and direction of your destination. With the new update, you can directly jump into Uber with one tap on the icon within Maps. Once you land into the Uber app, you can place your order. You can show your driver the handy map that will take you to your destination.
The Uber service is available across 35 countries, with a majority of its services available in 56 North American cities.
Meanwhile, Google seems to be in no mood to expand its ride-sharing and transportation app integration to other platforms or services beyond Uber at this juncture. When contacted the search giant over its future plans, it declined to comment.
How Uber works?
With the help of Uber app, the travelers can set their location on a map. Once they selection their location, they will need to choose one of multiple tiered driving services ranging from regular car drivers to professional drivers or using their own cars using the Uber app. The best part of the Uber servie is that once you place your order, the driver will picksyou up, drops you off and all the monetary transactions are done via the app and your credit card.
