The Utah Symphony is all ready to perform with guest pianist Conrad Tao on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. at Abravanel Hall.
The Utah Symphony is a full-time orchestra located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
It is being conducted by Thierry Fischer. The performance includes Qigang Chen’s “Wu Xing,” Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 in F minor.
According to a news release, Tao made his concerto debut at a very young age of 8. He has since performed throughout the world with numerous symphonies and now attends the Columbia University/Juilliard School joint degree program.
The Jan. 31 performance in Utah Opera will celebrate the music and arts of China in the “Silk & Spices” Festival in the Chinese New Year.
